What do you think of the relentless trend for very young, skinny male models?

I'm always paying tribute to Harry Bush, an illustrator from the late '60s and '70s that has helped define my motivation and aesthetic as a designer. His work truly inspires me when I see it. Each erotic illustration seems to explode with the joy and sexual energy that comes from two men. His illustration hand is also so beautifully confident and technically perfect. I believe he is the Norman Rockwell of gay erotic art.

Men in Speedos, yay or nay?

YAY! I love a man in a swim brief, and Charlie will always offer them. They are undeniably sexy to me. They celebrate a man's body like no other swimwear. And, I love tan lines on a man.

Do you prefer swimming pools or the ocean?

Impossible question. They are both exceptional experiences with such iconic associations! A pool is such a delicious architectural oasis — cool, crisp water filled with coconut lotion-scented, bikini-clad swimmers floating and swimming next to one another. A beach gives you one of nature's greatest beauties. I love seeing tanned bodies on a rainbow of towels lining the beach with the power of the ocean against the sand.

Where is your favorite place to wear a swimsuit?

In the sun ... wherever it may be.
